Black Design Collective is an organization of black designers expressing individual unique design excellence. The goal is to bring awareness of the history and relevance of the global impact of black design. We support our members with resources, mentorships, e-commerce platforms and business opportunities.
The Black Design Collective is an organization of accomplished designers that have impacted the fashion industry through their ready to wear, bespoke and film designs. With headquarters in Los Angeles, the group seeks to create a platform for designers of color to develop, produce and market their products globally as well as create a mentorship program for aspiring designers. Young designers will have an opportunity to work alongside a mentor and gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience. Additionally, a scholarship fund has been established to assist young designers in their pursuit of higher education in the field of fashion, design and costume design.

The COVID-19 Crisis has had a tremendous impact on all aspects of the fashion industry. Black designers and affiliates are among those affected, as they have seen sales, orders, gigs/jobs and other areas of their businesses come to a complete stop. In addition to health concerns, this is a challenging moment for many in our community as we deal with cancelled income and trying to make plans during uncertain times. Without support these designers may never recover and the loss of their contributions to the fashion, costume, accessory and textile communities may be lost.
Black Design Collective has always been anchored by a rich spirit of community and mutual generosity, and we believe that continuing communication and exchange are crucial for all of us. As COVID-19 continues to spread across the United States, we have launched the Black Design Collective COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund to assist fashion, costume, accessory and textile designers, along with affiliates such as photographers, makeup artists, graphic artists and others who have seen their livelihoods and way of operating impacted by the COVID-19 Crisis.
We ask you to consider supporting the Black design community through a donation. No gift is too small. Every dollar counts. Our goal is to raise funds to provide mini grants to designers and affiliates to help them keep employees employed, cover operating costs and to expand their on-line marketing efforts to increase online brand awareness and sales.
Please join us as we support Black Designers and the affiliate community that supports Black Designers. Together we can help the Black Design community and ensure that when the COVID-19 Crisis passes, that these entrepreneurs are still in business. Our goal is to give the first series of mini grants out in late April. Please consider donating today.
